Making cupcakes is one of the biggest joys in life, they aren’t very hard to make and they are loads of fun to decorate!
I made these fondant-topped cupcakes just as a trial run for later. They are chocolate pound cake with vanilla frosting and vanilla fondant; the adornments are made with dark chocolate fondant. I made the bow loops on the upper left one like I did for the bow cake, and all the rest I cut out right then. They were not very difficult to make, but I’m sure I could go faster the next time I make them.
I found that using a round biscuit cutter did the trick for keeping the white fondant the right size for each cupcake.
I can’t decide which one I like more, the one with the big bow (on the left), or the one with the little dots. Hmmmm, hard choice.
